Therapy approach

Person centered seeks to provide unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence to the client.

Trans-generational/Bowenian understands the role family of origin has in present behaviors and relationships.

Liberation theory-emotional distress is often due to oppressive political, economic, and social systems whereby persons experience oppression, suppression, coercion, marginalization from resources needed to survive. Therapy seeks to liberate the client and the therapist and challenge these oppressive economic systems.

Thomistic-persons consist of body and psyche/heart/soul which form a rational harmony of self. Distress can occur when the psyche/heart/soul and body are not congruent and in harmony. This also happens where there is incongruity between our intellect, will, and emotions.

Cognitive-Distressing thoughts stemming from life experiences and environment contribute to problematic feelings and behaviors.

I look forward to working with you.
